Intent of this course is to build an in-depth knowledge of Pipe Support Design used in Industrial Piping Design.

The aspect of this course is to fulfill the following requirements:

b) To Describe the process of supporting
c) To Understand the engineering requirements to choose ideal supports
d) To Be able to assess the design conditions and provide appropriate supports.

Purpose :

Pipe support design skill is one of the key skills for piping design engineers who are seeking challenging opportunities in top companies for high salary. Major energy industries around the world hires the bright piping engineers who are well conversant in all important areas of piping design. And Pipe support design is one of the major parts of piping design which plays vital role in optimizing the design. Therefore, the knowledge in pipe support is highly important to become successful in Piping design.

Introduction about the role of Pipe Support Skill in Piping Design Engineering
This lecture describes the value of pipe support designing skill, required for piping design engineers, who are interested to play a lead role in the piping design domain. At the end of the lecture, you will have a greater understanding about pipe supports and you would possess the skill required to execute the pipe support part in the detail engineering phase.

This lecture explains the primary purpose of pipe supports in industrial piping. And also describes the critical governing factors in piping systems which are the major reasons for most piping failures and how it is balanced using pipe supports.

Chapter 2 – Significance of Pipe Supports
This lectures explains the various roles and significance of pipe supports in different areas of industrial piping. At the end of this lecture, students will have a clear understanding about the engineering requirement for which pipe supports are used in piping system.

Chapter 3 – Types of Pipe Supports
This lecture describes the different types of pipe supports used in industries and classification of pipe supports in piping. Also explains the application and functions of the different types of pipe supports.
